Behrang hulu: The top management of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) assembled to pay their last respects to Kaliamah Karuppaya, the mother of Bernama's editor-in-chief, Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, at her residence in Behrang Hulu.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, notable attendees included deputy editor-in-chief (News Services) Mohd Shukri Ishak, acting deputy editor-in-chief (Economic News Services) Harlina Samson, Head of Management Services and Finance Sharifah Zaini Syed Zain, Head of TV Nor Hamzeela Md Hambali, and Malay Desk chief sub-editor Elmi-Rizal Elias. Additionally, senior manager of administration and facility Hasni Farlina Abdul Hasim, senior manager of business development and marketing communications K. Raj Anila, and senior sales executive G. Jaya Chitra were present.
Press Secretary to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Shuhaimi Mohamed, also attended, alongside family members and friends of Kaliamah Karuppaya. Mohd Shukri expressed the collective sorrow of Bernama's staff, extending condolences to Arul Rajoo and his family for their loss.
Mohd Shukri conveyed, "On behalf of the management and the Editorial Department in particular, we'd like to express our deepest condolences to our boss, Mr Arul, who lost his beloved mother last night. May he find strength in the love and support of those around him during this difficult time."
Kaliamah, aged 77, passed away at her home in Behrang Hulu at 8.10 pm the previous day, following health complications related to kidney failure.
