Bernama Utilizes Archives and Expertise for New Book on Selangor Sultan’s Jubilee

Kuala Lumpur:The Malaysian National News Agency, Bernama, has leveraged its extensive photographic archives and editorial expertise in the creation of a commemorative book titled "Payung Mahkota Selangor 25 Tahun di Singgahsana," celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah's reign as the Sultan of Selangor.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the publication of the book took several months, involving a dedicated team from the Editorial and Commercial departments. This team was led by editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj and advised by Bernama's CEO, Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin. The bilingual Malay-English book features 250 photographs and narratives detailing the history of the Selangor Sultanate and the Sultan's reign.

Nur-ul Afida emphasized the strengths of Bernama's photographic collection and experienced writers in producing the book, which highlights various aspects of Sultan Sharafuddin's rule, including his dedication to Islam, education, and public welfare. The process involved conceptual discussions and collaboration with the Selangor Palace Office and Raja Tun Uda Library for historical material.

The book will be distributed to the Selangor Palace and companies in the state. Bernama has previously published works on Selangor's royal institution, including a 2014 book on Sultan Sharafuddin and another on state mosques last year. Additionally, Bernama produced a book on His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, presented in May.

The national news agency plans to continue publishing books on the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's reigns, with more publications on national leaders forthcoming. A Bernama delegation, led by chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, presented the book to Sultan Sharafuddin at a ceremony. Another book was presented by a delegation from Sin Chew Daily, led by MCIL Group editor-in-chief Datuk Kuik Cheng Kang.
