Kuala lumpur: The body of a teenage boy who was suspected to have been a victim of a crocodile attack while bathing with his family along Sungai Sarawak in Kampung Segubang, Batu Kawa, was found this afternoon.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Centre reported that the body of the 15-year-old boy was discovered by family members during a search and rescue operation at about 5:30 pm, not far from where he went missing.
Before the incident, the victim was with his siblings bathing in the river while his mother was washing clothes. The centre noted that the boy complained of leg pain before he was believed to have been dragged away by a crocodile. At the time, the boy's grandfather was present and attempted to chase after him with a boat as he was being dragged away.
The centre further stated that the victim disappeared from sight about 200 metres from the point of the attack. When the body was found, both the left and right arms were missing. The body has since been handed over to the police for further action.
