Boumous Goal Secures Selangor’s Victory Against Star City in Super League Clash

Kelana Jaya:A decisive goal by Hugo Boumous sealed a 1-0 victory for Selangor FC over Star City FC, preserving their flawless record in the 2026/2027 Super League season.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, French midfielder Boumous scored his first goal of the season in the 16th minute, converting a low cross from team captain Chrigor Moraes at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium. This victory marks Selangor's sixth consecutive win.

Star City nearly equalized when Brazilian midfielder Pedro Santos Filho's powerful shot was saved by Selangor's goalkeeper, Sikh Izhan Nazrel Sikh Azman, five minutes after Boumous' goal. Later, Moraes almost extended Selangor's lead, but his strike was blocked by Star City goalkeeper Muhammad Farhan Abdul Majid in the 36th minute.

In the second half, Muhammad Farhan made another impressive save against a free kick from Brazilian player Vitor Pernambuco. A red card for Moraes, following an altercation with Santos, created tension for Selangor, but the team managed to maintain their lead till the end of the match.

Selangor shares 18 points with Johor Darul Ta'zim but remains in second place due to goal difference. Meanwhile, Star City is 10th in the standings with five points.
