Penang:Penang FC has announced a managerial change as Head Coach Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail has been rested from his duties with immediate effect.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the decision follows Penang FC's recent 1-2 defeat against Melaka FC in a Super League match held at the City Stadium. As a result, Penang FC's Technical Director Victor Andrag will assume the role of Head Coach immediately.
The team's performance this season has been underwhelming, as they currently occupy the 11th position in the league standings. With six matches played, they have obtained just four points, stemming from one victory and one draw.
During the match in question, Penang FC initially took the lead with a penalty kick by team captain Stefano Brundo in the 62nd minute. However, the team conceded an equalizer to Melaka FC's Dino Kalesic in the 72nd minute. The game concluded with Abdel Kader Coulibaly scoring a penalty in the final moments to secure the win for Melaka FC.
Wan Rohaimi, aged 50, was appointed as the Head Coach of Penang FC in November 2024.
