Budget 2027 to Enhance Investor Confidence and Economic Growth

Hanoi:The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) has announced that Budget 2027 is set to provide long-term confidence for investors, strengthen the industrial ecosystem, and ensure the economic benefits are widely shared by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the local workforce.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MIDA's chief executive officer, Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, emphasized that Malaysia is focused not only on attracting quality, sustainable investments but also on ensuring these investments generate added value and have a lasting impact on the national economy.

He highlighted that MIDA is intensifying strategic efforts to directly connect high-value investments with local companies through the National Investment Aspirations agenda. This strategy aims to enhance industrial capabilities, integrate Malaysian companies into higher-value segments of the supply chain, and create high-paying jobs to drive inclusive economic growth.

Sikh Shamsul also noted that with a combination of tax incentives, infrastructure, and a strong talent pool, MIDA is committed to facilitating investor growth in Malaysia. This commitment is expected to bolster local industries, create high-value jobs, and generate broad economic benefits for the populace.

He emphasised that MIDA will continue to work with stakeholders through a whole-of-government approach and the #InvestLokal agenda, including the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), other government ministries and agencies, and industry players, to facilitate and expedite the implementation of approved projects.
