Kuala lumpur: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has issued a reminder to Malaysians to replace damaged MyKads at the National Registration Department (NRD) to benefit from the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) petrol subsidy program. The government is facilitating a free replacement of damaged MyKad chips at all NRD offices across Malaysia until October 7, ensuring that citizens do not miss out on the subsidy.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin Nasution highlighted the necessity of presenting MyKad when purchasing petrol starting September 30. This requirement aims to confirm Malaysian citizenship and eligibility for the subsidy. Saifuddin made these remarks at a Keadilan Gathering Programme celebrating 27 years of reforms at Dewan Terbuka Awam Merotai Besar.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also serves as the Minister of Finance, previously announced a targeted fuel subsidy system. This initiative allows Malaysians to purchase RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre, compared to the market price of RM2.05 per litre. The subsidy rollout will occur in stages: September 27 for military and police personnel, September 28 for Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients in the B40 category, and September 30 for the general public.
Additionally, Saifuddin Nasution emphasized the government's commitment to Sabah's security. He remarked that peace and order are results of responsible governance rather than random occurrences.
