Bukit merah: The current water level at Bukit Merah Dam is at Critical Irrigation Level 1, measuring 6.965 metres, compared with the alert level of 7.62 metres.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kerian District Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) posted on Facebook that the dam's irrigation storage currently stands at 18.6958 million cubic metres as of yesterday. The department has urged farmers to use water wisely and practise conservation at all times, highlighting the importance of adhering to these measures given the current situation.
Under standard operating procedures, the normal irrigation supply level is 8.69 metres, which indicates the severity of the current drop in water level.
