Kuala lumpur: The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has issued an advisory for passengers traveling to, from, or transiting through West Asia to verify their flight status directly with airlines. This guidance comes in the wake of evolving security conditions in the region, which continue to impact international flight operations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, CAAM announced that airlines may alter routes, revise schedules, or cancel certain services. These changes could result in extended flight durations, delays, and disruptions to connecting flights. The authority noted that several airlines have already announced temporary suspensions, cancellations, or adjustments to services involving destinations in West Asia.

The statement urged passengers to obtain up-to-date information about flight schedules, connecting flight services, and available travel options directly from their respective airlines due to the possibility of operational arrangements changing at any time.

CAAM highlighted that major airlines including British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, KLM, and Air France have extended their service suspensions until late August, September, or October 2026. Additionally, passengers are encouraged to consult travel advisories and updated flight information issued by relevant government authorities, embassies, and civil aviation authorities as appropriate.

CAAM confirmed that Malaysia Airlines' Kuala Lumpur-Doha route continues to operate daily, whereas other services to Doha are suspended until October 24. Meanwhile, the launch of AirAsia X's new Kuala Lumpur-Bahrain-London Gatwick route, initially scheduled for August 27, 2026, has been postponed to March 2027.
