Cabinet Offers Condolences and Prayers for Tun Dr Mahathir’s Health

Kuala Lumpur:The Cabinet has offered condolences to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family following the passing of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, and has prayed for his health as he remains under medical observation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil stated that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Cabinet expressed their prayers for Dr Mahathir, who is currently at the National Heart Institute (IJN). Fahmi conveyed these sentiments during a press conference after a Cabinet meeting.

Tun Dr Mahathir's son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, reported that his father was admitted to IJN the previous day. He assured that Dr Mahathir's condition is stable and not a cause for concern, emphasizing that the admission was a precautionary measure to ensure proper medical attention following his mother's death.

Tun Dr Siti Hasmah, who was 100 years old, passed away at IJN on September 28. She was laid to rest at Pusa Negara in Precinct 20 the same day after a state funeral.
