Perlis:Protecting children requires a collective effort that starts at home, is reinforced in schools, and extends to the wider community to ensure their safety and well-being.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, emphasized that every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment, free from abuse, neglect, violence, and exploitation. He highlighted the importance of continued efforts by the government, relevant agencies, families, and communities to provide equal opportunities for every child in Perlis to learn, develop, and fulfill their potential.
He made these remarks during the opening of the 2026 Children's Day celebration at the STAR Complex of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perlis Branch, where the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, was also present.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra urged parents, guardians, and the public to act promptly if they suspect child abuse by seeking help and reporting it through appropriate channels, including Talian Kasih 15999. He also advocated for stronger Child Protection Teams (PPKK) and Child Activity Centres (PAKK) to act as grassroots partners in identifying risks early, referring cases to the Social Welfare Department (JKM), and raising public awareness of child safety.
He called upon all parties to use the celebration to reinforce their shared commitment to creating a safe and caring environment where every child can develop to their full potential.
