Bintulu:Kuala Lumpur Investors from China have expressed interest in developing an aluminium production plant and a green energy facility in Samalaju, Bintulu, Sarawak. These developments aim to bolster manufacturing activities targeted at the international market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that the proposed investment encompasses not only the construction of a manufacturing plant but also the development of green energy sources to provide electricity for the factory's operations. The initiative to attract such investments has been ongoing, considering Samalaju's potential as an industrial area suitable for large-scale manufacturing activities.

Dr Ahmad Zahid mentioned that this investment could significantly benefit Sarawak. Discussions have taken place with the premier and several Sarawak ministers to facilitate this investment in Samalaju, which holds substantial industrial potential. The investment aims to focus on manufacturing and green energy to power the factory.
