Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of selecting political leaders who have the capability to unify the nation rather than create divisions. He stressed that the selection of appropriate leaders is crucial because political leadership influences the direction of the country's economic and educational policies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar articulated his belief that if the Gen Z generation adopts this message, it will lead to transformative change. He called for an end to the old politics of fear and division based on race and hatred. Instead, he advocated for fostering strength and determination to combat corruption and racism.

Anwar delivered these remarks during his speech at the 'Generasi Muda Suara Baharu' programme, which was also attended by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil. Anwar highlighted the necessity of electing leaders who are free from corruption and who do not sow discord, but rather govern effectively to secure the country's future.

He further remarked on the need for meaningful change, emphasizing that it should be pursued wisely and with the assurance of success, rather than being driven by mere passion. He criticized those who only voice their grievances when they are out of power, urging for immediate and thoughtful reform.

The Prime Minister also expressed his pride in the harmonious cooperation among different races, especially the current younger generation, stating that he is optimistic about Malaysia's future. He noted the collaborative spirit among Malays, Chinese, Indians, and the people of Sabah and Sarawak, particularly among the young Gen Z with their commitment to reform.

Anwar announced that the Suara Baharu Generasi Muda programme would be conducted in every district across the nation to inspire the reform movement among the youth. He expressed his joy over the new enthusiasm observed among the young, marking it as the beginning of a new era.
