According to BERNAMA News Agency, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil emphasized the need for efforts to promote creative content on digital platforms to be coupled with measures protecting children from online sexual crimes. This approach aligns with the government's goal to bolster the nation's creative economy by producing quality and responsible digital content.

Fahmi highlighted the challenge of preventing crimes such as online child sexual exploitation and grooming while encouraging the creation of content on platforms like YouTube. He stressed the importance of safeguarding children from potential exploitation by adults on these platforms.

The Communications Ministry and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) are actively supporting the production of creative content on digital platforms as a means to enhance the country's creative economy. The Orange Economy Council, which oversees policies and reviews programs related to the creative economy, also endorses these efforts.

Regarding the 'Creators for Impact 2026' program organized by Google, Fahmi noted that the initiative helps content creators learn techniques for producing relevant content while integrating online safety messages for audiences. He also stated that content creators could significantly contribute to promoting responsible internet use among young people through engaging content.

Fahmi called for closer cooperation between the government, technology companies, and content creators to ensure that digital safety messages effectively reach young audiences.
