Dhaka: The Coordinator General of the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chowdhury, inaugurated the 3rd OIC Youth Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology at North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was organized in collaboration with the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and North South University.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the forum aims to gather leading policymakers, academics, and representatives of international organizations to emphasize the role of biotechnology in tackling global food security challenges. The gathering underscores the cooperation between COMSTECH, IOFS, and NSU in this significant endeavor.
Professor Chowdhury, during his address, highlighted the robust partnership between Bangladesh and COMSTECH in advancing science and technology. He noted the impact of the COMSTECH-Bangladesh Scholarship Programme, which has facilitated numerous young researchers in pursuing advanced studies and research in Pakistan and other Islamic nations. He expressed appreciation to North South University, the Islamic Organization for Food Security, and all partner institutions for their contributions to the forum's success.
The forum concludes today with various scientific sessions featuring speakers from Turkey, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and other nations. These sessions aim to foster knowledge exchange and strengthen international cooperation in the field of agricultural biotechnology.
