Confidence and Supply Agreement Open to All MPs, Says Fahmi

Kuala Lumpur:The Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) is available not only to the 13 Members of Parliament (MPs) who have signed it but also to any MP interested in joining through discussions, stated MADANI Government spokesman Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi highlighted that the CSA signing between the government, Bersatu, and independent MPs was a topic at the recent Cabinet meeting, describing it as a positive step for political stability.

The CSA and memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing is not exclusive to the initial 13 MPs but open to any MP willing to engage in talks and sign the agreement. He emphasized that the discussions are open for all interested parties.

Regarding the CSA's mechanism, Fahmi noted the government's consideration of a joint assessment approach like the one used during the 2021-2022 CSA. This approach involved both parties assessing the fulfillment of agreed commitments.

Fahmi reiterated the government's commitment to implementing all agreed matters under the CSA, focusing on institutional reforms. He expressed hope that strong support would facilitate the fulfillment of these commitments.

The government recently signed the CSA with six Bersatu MPs led by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, along with seven others, including Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim remarked that the CSA is critical for reinforcing political stability and ensuring smooth government administration, aiming to implement the country's development agenda, including Budget 2027, effectively for the public's benefit.
