Riyadh: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, shared his views on the importance of consistent government policy implementation during his meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, today. Sultan Ibrahim stated that the discussion at Al-Yamamah Palace here took place in a warm atmosphere and touched on various matters of mutual interest to both nations.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, His Majesty emphasized that consistent policy implementation is crucial for maintaining stability in bilateral relations and enhancing investor confidence. "This is our first meeting, and Prince Mohammed is very knowledgeable about the various matters that were discussed. I also shared some of my views, especially regarding the importance of consistent policy implementation in the government and in international relations," His Majesty told the Royal Press Office after the meeting.
His Majesty also praised Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to elevate the nation through economic diversification, citizen empowerment, and creating an attractive environment for investors. Earlier, Sultan Ibrahim was accorded a state welcome at the Al-Yamamah Palace in conjunction with his four-day state visit to Saudi Arabia, which began yesterday.
Accompanying His Majesty on this visit are Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj, and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin. Sultan Ibrahim arrived at the Royal Terminal of the King Khalid International Airport at 12.30 pm yesterday, marking the first state visit by a Yang di-Pertuan Agong to Saudi Arabia since the late Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah's visit in 1984.
According to a statement from Istana Negara, the state visit underscores the ongoing commitment of Malaysia and Saudi Arabia to fortify bilateral relations while broadening cooperation across various fields, including economy, geopolitics, defence, and Islamic affairs. In the first 10 months of this year, a total of 12 high-profile visits have occurred between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, Malaysia's 14th largest trading partner, with total trade valued at RM44.74 billion (USD9.79 billion).
This state visit is the fifth by Sultan Ibrahim following visits to Singapore, China, Brunei, and Russia.
