JOHOR BAHRU: Cooperation between media practitioners and water industry players is deemed essential for the future sustainability of water supply, according to Ranhill SAJ Sdn Bhd's chief executive officer, Anuar Abdul Ghani. As Johor's water operator, Ranhill SAJ aims to strengthen relationships with media practitioners to increase public awareness of water resource limitations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anuar emphasized the media's role in covering water infrastructure projects, water usage policies, and initiatives for conserving and sustaining water sources. He stated that media coverage serves as a crucial communication channel to the community, enhancing public understanding of water source importance and encouraging responsible water use.

Efficient and sustainable management of water resources is critical to ensuring public welfare and supporting the nation's economic growth, especially concerning drinking water supply and industrial water usage. Anuar highlighted that print, electronic, and online media play a pivotal role in educating the public and providing accurate information on water-related issues while also serving as a feedback channel for improving water supply systems.

In a related development, Anuar presented financial aid to Abdull Hadi Mohd Yusoff, the director of the Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) TV programme division, during a recent event. Abdull Hadi, 58, who is currently battling leukemia, has previously held the position of Broadcasting Director in Johor, Negeri Sembilan, and Sarawak before his assignment in Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur.
