Crimes In School: Saifuddin Pledges Transparent, Professional Investigation

Petaling jaya: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has promised a transparent and professional investigation into the recent criminal incidents that have occurred in school premises. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail also stressed that those involved would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin emphasized the need to strengthen public confidence, particularly among parents, in line with the slogan "there is no separation between the police and the community." He noted the importance of focusing on school safety, as parents entrust schools with their children's well-being. Addressing the community, Saifuddin declared that any crime incidents at schools would be met with appropriate legal action to ensure justice is served.

Saifuddin made these remarks during his speech at the Handover Ceremony of the Mualim District Headquarters (IPD) Construction Project. Minister of Works Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi was also present at the event. Saifuddin further explained that investigations would be conducted under the child-related act and relevant sections of the Penal Code, such as 302, 375, or 377B, depending on the nature of each case.

He reiterated that the police would not tolerate any crime incidents at schools, regardless of the perpetrator's identity. However, he highlighted that ensuring school safety requires a collaborative effort involving the police, schools, community leaders, and opinion leaders. Saifuddin called for collective cooperation to enhance security measures.
