Kuala lumpur: The National Unity Ministry (KPN) will develop a comprehensive, integrated, and data-driven action plan to manage and monitor hate-related issues and emerging developments that could threaten national harmony and public well-being, as part of efforts to strengthen the National Unity Integration Research and Training Institute (IKLIN).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, the Minister of National Unity, emphasized the importance of a data-driven approach in systematically addressing unity-related challenges amidst increasingly complex social dynamics. The plan aligns with the aspirations of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), aiming to upgrade IKLIN as a Centre of Excellence for Unity, thereby enhancing the national unity ecosystem holistically and sustainably.
Aaron announced the government's intention to establish a high-impact research centre dedicated to national unity studies, inter-ethnic relations, and the analysis of hate-based narratives in Malaysia. Furthermore, IKLIN's role will be fortified as a strategic reference centre offering inputs, data analysis, and policy insights on unity, conflict management, and national integration to inform more structured and effective policymaking.
The strategy also underscores human capital development by boosting competencies in unity and nationhood, aiming to create 'Unity Social Engineers' who can act as agents of social transformation at the grassroots level. This initiative is a testament to the MADANI Government's commitment to reinforcing the foundation of an inclusive, progressive, and resilient nation.
Aaron reiterated that unity is not merely an aspiration but a fundamental prerequisite for political stability, economic prosperity, and the overall well-being of the Malaysian people.
