Kuala krai: The decomposing body of an elderly woman was found in her residence in Flat Sri Guchil, Kuala Krai this afternoon. Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Mohd Khairul Duha Abdul Halim stated that the victim, identified as Halimatun Yusoff, 69, who lived alone, was discovered at 2:08 pm in the living room after firefighters accessed the locked unit.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the station received a distress call at 2:04 pm from the police, who requested assistance to open the door to the unit. The call was prompted by a complaint about a foul smell emanating from the flat.

Once the door was opened, the team found the decomposing body of Halimatun Yusoff in the living room. The body was subsequently handed over to the police for further action as part of the ongoing investigation.
