Deepavali Carnival Organizers Required to Remove Tents Nightly

Seremban:Organizers of the 2026 Deepavali Carnival in Jalan Dato' Lee Fong Yee are mandated to dismantle all tents by midnight each day and set them up again the next day, in accordance with the conditions set by the Seremban City Council (MBS).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mayor Datuk Masri Baharuddin announced that the council has given approval for the installation of tents and a stage, allowing operations from 5 pm to midnight daily. Additionally, a one-way road closure will be in effect to facilitate the event.

Mayor Masri warned that action will be taken against those who do not comply, particularly targeting organizers who leave their business tents on-site after operating hours. He emphasized his commitment to enforcing these conditions after attending the MBS Media Bowling Championship.

The Deepavali Carnival will take place from October 29 to November 7, offering various activities and sales in celebration of Deepavali.

In related news, Masri revealed that MBS has paid RM1,750 in incentives to eight individuals who surrendered a total of 22 stray dogs to the council. This initiative offers RM50 for each adult dog and RM25 for each puppy, aiming to involve the public in controlling the stray dog population and preventing related incidents.

He noted that contractors appointed by MBS face challenges in capturing the animals as they often evade capture before operations commence. Masri encouraged residents to assist by identifying areas where stray dogs congregate, facilitating their capture and subsequent handover to the council.
