Delegates Call On PKR To Rebuild Party Strength After Election

Johor Bahru: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) must immediately rebuild its strength after the central-level election to consolidate the people's faith in the party. Perak PKR State Leadership Council Communications and Manifesto director Baldip Singh Santokh Singh emphasized the importance of unity as PKR is a key component of the Unity Government and leads several state governments.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Baldip Singh underscored the necessity for PKR members to unite and focus on external challenges rather than internal disputes. He urged those who lost in the election not to be disheartened, highlighting the party's unity agenda as a priority. His remarks were made during the debate session on the president's keynote address at the 2024/2025 PKR National Congress held at the Persada International Convention Centre.

The session saw attendance from PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Prime Minister, along with PKR Advisory Council chairman Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and other party leaders. Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Leadership Council member Khalid Imran Mas Ahmad Nasruddin called for the inclusion of those who lost in the elections, emphasizing the need for unity and trust within the party.

Other members, including Kuala Terengganu Division chief Azan Ismail and Jelebu Division AMK deputy head Mohd Umry Abdul Khois, echoed the sentiment that reconciliation within the party is essential. The official election results announced yesterday confirmed that Anwar retained the president's post unopposed, and Nurul Izzah Anwar was elected as the new deputy president.

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, and Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Chang Lih Kang retained their vice-presidential positions. A new addition to the vice-presidency is Deputy Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.
