Tokyo: Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR), the world's largest cloud- and carrier-neutral data center platform, today announced the opening of the first Digital Realty Innovation Lab (DRIL) in Asia Pacific, located at the NRT12 data center in Tokyo, Japan.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the establishment of the Innovation Lab in Japan is a joint venture known as MC Digital Realty, formed between Digital Realty and Mitsubishi Corporation. This Tokyo-based facility is the second of its kind globally, following the inaugural lab in Northern Virginia, which opened in September 2025. The company also plans to launch a similar facility in Singapore in the second half of 2026.
The new Innovation Lab aims to enhance the deployment of AI and hybrid cloud solutions across the Asia Pacific region. By leveraging its strategic location and advanced infrastructure, the lab is expected to serve as a pivotal resource for businesses looking to innovate and optimize their digital transformation strategies.
