Kuala lumpur: Dr L. Sivanaesan has been elected as the new President-Elect of the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA). In the MMA elections held in August, members from across Malaysia placed their trust in Dr Sivanaesan to lead the fraternity.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Sivanaesan will serve one year as President-Elect before assuming the role of President in 2026. 'I will be shouldering the heaviest responsibility of my career,' he said in a Facebook post today.
Dr Sivanaesan's journey with the MMA began as a student member, and over the years, he has served in multiple key roles. His contributions include being an Exco Member in Perak MMA, Exco and State Chairman of Selangor MMA, Chairman of the National Private Practitioners Section, and serving two terms as MMA Honorary Deputy Secretary.
