Up To 30 Pct Discounts At Pahang Mega Rahmah Sale

Kuantan: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living is organising the state-level Mega Rahmah MADANI Sale Programme (PJRM) in conjunction with Malaysia Day at the forecourt of the Pantai Sepat Fishermen's Market here today and tomorrow.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh stated that the programme offers 142 stock keeping units, including fresh fish and meat, in collaboration with the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority, with discounts of between 10 and 30 per cent. She highlighted that the Mega Rahmah Sale is implemented through an off-premise model, which has been held fewer than 1,000 times nationwide. This marks the second time the event is being held at this location following an encouraging response previously.

The programme is designed over two days to allow local residents to plan their visits, whether in the morning, afternoon, or the following day, aiming to bring maximum benefit to the public. To attract more visitors, incentives in the form of RM20 e-wallet credits are also distributed to the first 1,500 visitors today and tomorrow. Additionally, a Sumbangan Asas Rahmah terminal is provided to extend further benefits for those using the assistance.

Fuziah further noted that from January until August 31 this year, 15,308 Rahmah Sales had been organised nationwide under three main models, with 9,600 of them being Mobile Rahmah Sales. At the same event, she presented 'zakat wakalah' contributions from the Companies Commission of Malaysia, consisting of RM250 in cash and Rahmah baskets worth RM100, to 127 recipients.

Speaking about her plan under the One Leader One Village (Santuni MADANI) Programme, Fuziah mentioned that the ministry would focus on developing padi field projects in Pantai Sepat that have been left idle since the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, this padi field had 88 participants, but it has been idle for three years. Efforts are being restarted by forming communities, with the 88 participants divided into three communities to work on the 33-acre padi field. By the end of this year, ploughing and planting will commence.

She added that developing the padi fields could also enhance the area's agrotourism potential due to its location near the beach.
