Ampang jaya: Calls for an earlier general election will be considered, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He emphasized that the government is currently focusing on efforts to revive the economy, enhance the well-being of the people, and combat corruption and abuse of power.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister assured that the federal government remains stable and holds the mandate to govern and manage the country effectively. He mentioned facing pressure and receiving various suggestions but maintained his decision to continue with the current mandate. Anwar conveyed this message to the Cabinet, highlighting the government's commitment to eradicating corruption and abuse of power.

Prime Minister Anwar made these remarks to reporters after attending Friday prayers at Masjid Bukit Indah in Ampang Jaya. He reiterated that the fight against corruption and abuse of power is not influenced by racial considerations or aimed at protecting any particular group's position. Anwar clarified that regardless of ethnicity, whether Malay, Chinese, Indian, or from Sabah or Sarawak, the focus is on saving the country and not on protecting specific positions or groups.

He acknowledged the risks and pressure involved in these efforts but expressed hope for continued public support and prayers to help clean up the country. Anwar's commitment to these initiatives reflects the government's priority to ensure effective governance and a stable economic recovery.
