Kuala lumpur: The Election Commission (EC) today refuted claims circulating on social media that candidates for the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN) must undergo income tax checks with the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) to qualify for nomination.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the EC addressed these rumors in a post on its official Facebook page, emphasizing that the information being spread via the WhatsApp application is false. The post clearly stated, "The information is not true. Please take note."
The EC has scheduled November 29 as the polling day for the 17th Sabah PRN, with the nomination process set for November 15 and early voting on November 25.
