ECERDC Facilitates RM5 Bln In Realised Investments In Pahang

Putrajaya: The East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) has facilitated RM5 billion in realised investments and RM3.9 billion in committed investments in Pahang for the first nine months of 2025.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the council announced that the realised investments represent 90 per cent of its RM5.6 billion target for Pahang in 2025, with contributions from the manufacturing, oil and gas, and services sectors at 41 per cent, 34 per cent, and 25 per cent, respectively. These investments have resulted in the creation of 2,846 new job opportunities in the region.

The RM3.9 billion in committed investments, predominantly in manufacturing (95 per cent) and agriculture (5 per cent), are forecasted to generate an additional 3,185 jobs once realised. The announcement coincided with the Implementation and Coordination Committee ECER Pahang meeting in Putrajaya, which included a formal document exchange with four companies investing a total of RM1.6 billion in the state.

The companies involved are PKNP Fire Phoenix Data Center Sdn Bhd, Sinolion Wheels Technology Sdn Bhd, Malaysian Solar Resources Sdn Bhd, and Lionphos Sdn Bhd. These firms will focus on establishing an AI data centre, producing aluminium alloy wheel rims, developing a green technology manufacturing plant, and producing food-grade and electronic-grade phosphate, respectively.

Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail expressed the state government's full support for these investments, highlighting their role in socio-economic development. He emphasized that such partnerships are pivotal for driving sustainable growth and creating high-value jobs, aligning with Pahang's goals of enhancing economic resilience and solidifying its position as a premier investment destination.

ECERDC chief executive officer Datuk Baidzawi Che Mat commented on the state's success in attracting investments across various sectors, crediting the agency's balanced development model. He noted that with the completion of the Turtle Conservation and Information Centre, local tourism is set to receive a boost, further attracting new investors and strengthening Pahang's role in supply chains.

The ECERDC meeting also addressed the upcoming launch of the Kuantan Port City Port Link Road project, which aims to enhance logistics connectivity between the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and the East Coast Expressway. The 13-kilometre dual carriageway and new toll plaza are set to open on October 21, 2025.
