Kuala lumpur: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has conveyed his condolences to the family of esteemed veteran actor Dharma Harun Al Rashid, who reportedly passed away tonight. Fahmi expressed his sorrow upon receiving the news, recalling the actor's gentle and humble nature, which earned him respect from many.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi reminisced about his recent encounter with the late actor during a Raya donation presentation ceremony for veteran artists at the Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information earlier this year. He described Dharma Harun Al Rashid as a person who was admired by many and hoped that divine blessings would be bestowed upon the actor's soul.

Fahmi also wished strength and resilience for the family members of the deceased as they cope with their loss. The actor's passing was initially announced by his second son, Muhammad Al Syafiq, through an Instagram post.

In 2019, Dharma Harun experienced a stroke that impaired his speech and memory, preventing him from continuing his work. In February 2024, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, through his political secretary Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, extended financial support to the actor to assist with his daily needs.
