Kubang semang: Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has suggested that the eligibility conditions for the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) be reviewed, so that recipients who enjoy salary increments will still qualify for the aid. He said that although the individuals' income had increased, some may still require continued support from the government.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi highlighted that there are recipients who previously received STR but due to their salary increases, they may no longer qualify under the current eligibility criteria. He proposed that the Finance Ministry undertake a review of these conditions, considering the salary increments observed among certain individuals.

Fahmi's comments were made during a visit to two families under the Ziarah Kasih Komuniti MADANI programme in Kubang Semang. The visit included meeting with a disabled teenager, Arnisya Roslan, 14, and Yusnizam Mohammed Yusop, 42, who is suffering from diabetes. The Ziarah Kasih Komuniti MADANI programme is a government initiative aimed at providing assistance to those in need and gaining a better understanding of their challenges.

Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa and Information Department director-general Julina Johan were also present during the visit.
