FAMA Aims Sales Of RM250,000 At Mantai Semarak Syawal Programme

Melaka: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) is targeting a sales value of RM250,000 in conjunction with the Mantai Semarak Syawal programme being held from March 25 until tomorrow. The programme is taking place at 10 locations across the state and has currently achieved sales amounting to RM175,000.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, FAMA's Melaka Director, Nor Azhar Abdul Hamid, stated that the Semarak Syawal programme offers various necessities for Aidilfitri. These include ketupat, coconut milk, coconut leaves, palas leaves, beef, chicken, and Raya cookies cakes, making it easier for consumers to acquire fresh ingredients at reasonable prices.

In addition to these offerings, the programme also features the Bakul Madani Raya sale, which includes packet oil, eggs, ginger, onions, and coconut milk, sold for RM10. There is also a special sale of chickens at a discounted price. Nor Azhar shared this information with reporters during the opening of the Mantai Semarak Syawal programme at the Merlimau Farmers' Market, officiated by the State Rural Development, Agriculture, and Food Security Committee chairman Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.

Nor Azhar emphasized that the Mantai Semarak Syawal programme is designed to make it easier for consumers to obtain essential goods for Syawal preparations at reasonable prices. Among the products available at the programme are grade C chicken eggs priced at RM6 per tray and local white rice at RM26 per 10-kilogram packet.
