Serdang: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) will bring together 343 of the best entrepreneurs from across the country to liven up the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026, which will be held at MAEPS, Serdang, from Aug 28 to Sept 6.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, FAMA deputy director general (Management Services), Shahrizan Sudiman, said the participants were selected through state-level competitions to ensure that the products showcased are of high quality and meet established standards. "For example, in Johor, we have kacang pool and in Pahang, we have ikan patin tempoyak. We will bring all these products to MAHA 2026, and I believe these products truly match the tastes of Malaysians this time around. We go beyond just selecting participants. It is about identifying the very best to ensure that every visitor to MAHA 2026 walks away with a memorable experience, while also supporting our domestic food production industry," he said.
He was speaking at a press conference during the FAMA@MAHA2026 edition Agro MADANI Sales, at FAMA Headquarters in Bandar Baru Selayang today. Shahrizan said the 343 entrepreneurs and exhibitors selected by FAMA are spread across four main segments, Food Empire, Food Truck Fiesta, Agribusiness, and Kingdom of Agrofood, out of a total of 2,000 exhibitors at MAHA 2026. "Through the Agribusiness segment alone, we are involving about 141 entrepreneurs from across the country, and interestingly, nearly 20 per cent of them have already succeeded in marketing their products overseas," he said.
On the Food Empire segment, Shahrizan said 74 participants will be taking part, offering a variety of state-specialty products, alongside the involvement of international entrepreneurs from the Middle East. "As for the Food Truck Fiesta segment, it will bring together about 34 local entrepreneurs offering a selection of viral food favourites chosen from all over the country. The Kingdom of Agrofood segment will feature local agricultural produce, including the livestock and fisheries sectors, while also highlighting melons from various states as the 'Fruit of the Event'," he said.
On the Agro MADANI Sales held today, Shahrizan said 33 entrepreneurs across 44 sales lots had taken part in the programme as an early promotional platform to introduce FAMA's main attractions ahead of MAHA 2026. "Visitors can enjoy various special offers, including Kombo MADANI at prices as low as RM10, Happy Hour at RM5, fresh chicken at RM10 per bird, fresh meat at RM25 per kg, as well as promotions on seasonal fruits, Agromas products, Kopiesatu and free vegetable distribution. This initiative allows the public to enjoy savings of between 10 and 30 per cent compared to market prices, in line with the government's efforts to help people ease the cost of living," he said.
The Agro MADANI Sales, first introduced in 2023, continues through the FAMA@MAHA2026 edition as evidence of FAMA's commitment to empowering agro-food entrepreneurs, ensuring national food security and delivering the best possible experience for visitors.
