Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower on Friday, aligning with the weaker performance observed in the underlying cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the July 2025 and August 2025 contracts witnessed a decrease of 5.5 points each, settling at 1,531.5 and 1,528.5, respectively. The September 2025 contract saw a decline of 6.0 points to 1,509.5, while the December 2025 contract reduced by 4.5 points to 1,511.5.
Turnover saw a significant increase, rising to 12,877 lots compared to 4,013 lots on the previous day. Meanwhile, open interest also grew, reaching 48,755 contracts from the prior 39,381 contracts.
At the close of the day, the FBM KLCI decreased by 6.56 points, or 0.43 per cent, ending at 1,533.76 from its previous close of 1,540.32.
