Felda Breaks Record for Most Participants in Oil Palm-Themed Treasure Hunt

Kuala lumpur: The Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) has officially recognized the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) for achieving the record for the 'Most Participants in Oil Palm-Themed Treasure Hunt'. The acknowledgment was granted during Felda's Kembara Sawit Lestari programme, which is part of the authority's fourth cluster of activities. This event, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, saw the participation of 1,040 settlers engaging in a range of activities such as an indoor hunt, scavenger hunt, and educational hunt, all in celebration of Felda Settler Day 2025.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MBR special officer Edwin Yeoh presented the certificate to Felda director-general Datuk Dr Suzana Idayu Wati Osman at a ceremony held at the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade). The event was also attended by Felda deputy director-general (plantations) Izham Mustaffa, who highlighted the efforts made by Felda to enhance the profitability and production of oil palm activities through a three-day seminar starting on July 31.

Izham emphasized the importance of collaboration and accurate information in achieving productivity and quality improvements. He expressed Felda's commitment to ensuring that their oil palm products are sustainable and ready for global markets, aligning with the initiative's theme, 'Sawitku Mendunia'. He noted that 80% of the hard work behind the oil palm production comes from settlers, and all Felda settlements have achieved Malaysia Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification to support the government's sustainable development goals.

"We adopt good practices, comply with laws, and adhere to compliance principles in palm oil management, ensuring good governance for high-quality product output," Izham stated. He further mentioned that these practices will be ingrained across all levels, including settlers, the new Felda generation, workers, and management, in compliance with the regulations and requirements set by the MSPO certification.
