Fewer Evacuees Reported as Flood Situation Improves in Sabah and Sarawak

Sabah: The number of flood victims in Sabah and Sarawak has decreased to 374 people as of 4 pm today, a decline from 468 reported this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Sabah, the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Secretariat reported that 169 individuals from 43 families remain at two temporary relief centers in the Kinabatangan district. Additionally, a relief center in Beaufort, which previously accommodated 33 people from 10 families, has been closed as conditions have normalized.

In Sarawak, the JPBN Secretariat noted that 205 evacuees are still taking refuge in two relief centers in the Miri division. Meanwhile, two relief centers in the Mukah division, specifically the Mukah Youth Camp and the Mukah Community Sports Complex Hall, which were sheltering 49 individuals, were closed at 11 am today following the complete recession of floodwaters.
