Perlis: Five key aspects must be prioritised to improve SPM performance in Perlis, in line with the evolving education landscape, through a clear and comprehensive post-mortem. The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, emphasized the need for a detailed approach to address the current educational challenges during an awards presentation ceremony for SPM 2025 and sports excellence.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the first aspect involves reviewing SPM performance for both current and previous years, focusing on school and subject results to identify areas for improvement. The second aspect highlights the importance of understanding performance differences between urban and rural schools and among students from various backgrounds, ensuring equal opportunities for all students to excel.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra further elaborated that the third aspect focuses on identifying students who need extra support, taking into account factors such as attendance, motivation, discipline, socio-economic background, and family support. This would enable more targeted and effective assistance.
The fourth aspect involves assessing the effectiveness of existing intervention programmes by evaluating their impact on student performance and identifying best practices for expansion. Lastly, the fifth aspect emphasizes continuous improvement in teaching and learning, particularly in teaching approaches, the use of modules, and more systematic monitoring.
At the event, 51 SPM 2025 candidates were recognized with awards, including three Excellence Awards, 10 Commendation Awards, and 38 Special Awards. Additionally, two individuals were honoured for their excellence in sports.
