Flights Disrupted by Haze at Senai International Airport

Johor Bahru:Five flights scheduled at Senai International Airport were affected this morning due to poor visibility caused by haze.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Transport Minister Anthony Loke reported that the weather conditions impacted flight operations as aircraft were unable to land safely. Several flights had to be diverted to other locations, including Kuala Lumpur and Changi Airport in Singapore, while departures were delayed.

Minister Loke's own flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Senai, originally scheduled for 7.15 am, was delayed by one hour and 45 minutes. He explained that the pilot informed passengers that the aircraft could not land at Senai due to the visibility issues, prompting them to wait at KLIA until conditions improved.

As of 9 am, seven areas in Johor recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings, with Segamat reaching 186, Pasir Gudang 180, Larkin 178, and Tangkak 171.
