Kota kinabalu: The number of flood evacuees in Sabah has decreased to 6,462 individuals from 2,124 families as of 8 am today, showing a slight reduction from the 6,595 evacuees from 2,173 families recorded the previous day.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sabah State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Secretariat reported that 30 temporary relief centres (PPS) continue to operate across the three districts of Beaufort, Membakut, and Tenom. Tenom remains the most severely affected area, with 4,931 evacuees, followed by Beaufort with 1,462 people, and Membakut with 69 people seeking refuge.
Beaufort and Membakut are located on Sabah's west coast, southwest of Kota Kinabalu, while Tenom is situated in the state's interior. Despite the ongoing flood situation, a total of 155 villages across these districts are affected, yet no casualties or fatalities have been reported.
