Kulim: Residents in flood-hit areas in the district have been advised to immediately move to temporary relief centres for their own safety following reports that some still refused to budge despite their homes being inundated. Kulim District Officer Mohamad Rizal Mohamad Radzi emphasized the risks associated with staying in flooded homes, particularly during unpredictable weather conditions and possible shortages of food supplies.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Rizal urged all residents in affected areas to evacuate promptly and relocate to the relief centres. He made this appeal during a visit to the Sekolah Menengah Agama Madrasah Ihsaniah temporary relief centre in Kampung Jangkang, Karangan. The relief centres are equipped to provide food and beverages four times daily, with officers from various agencies on-site to facilitate aid distribution.
He further mentioned that the Kulim District Office is prepared to offer additional support if needed, working in conjunction with the Social Welfare Department.
