Pahang Government Nears RM1 Billion Revenue Target for 2023

Kuala lumpur: The Pahang government has reported a revenue collection of RM950 million to date this year, as announced by Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. The government remains optimistic about achieving its RM1 billion revenue target by the end of the year, extending the record of surpassing the billion-ringgit mark achieved since 2022.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, after considering expenditures, including salary payments and management costs amounting to RM600 million, the remaining revenue will be redirected to the people through welfare initiatives. These initiatives include assistance for children pursuing higher education, incentives for first-time marriages, support for religious programmes, and the Pahang People's Housing Project. Wan Rosdy shared these details during the 'Jelajah Wira MADANI' programme at Laman Sejahtera, Sungai Koyan.

The programme succeeded in strengthening connections between armed forces veterans and state government agencies, with Sungai Koyan serving as a fitting venue due to its significant population of military retirees. Wan Rosdy noted that the programme aimed not only to honour veterans but also to educate the community about the defence sector and the roles of military personnel in ensuring national peace.

Moreover, such programmes facilitate collaboration among government agencies and organisations in organising activities for the local community. They also provide the younger generation with insights into the contributions of defence personnel, fostering an interest in military careers.
