FM Mohamad In Jeddah To Attend OIC CFM Extraordinary Meeting

Kuala lumpur: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan arrived here today to attend the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) tomorrow. He arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport at 5.45 pm and was welcomed by Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Datuk Syed Bakri Syed Abdul Rahman.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad is leading the Malaysian delegation to the one-day meeting, which will discuss the latest developments concerning Palestine, including the situation in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements. Syed Bakri had earlier said that Malaysia's participation in the meeting is important in conveying the country's firm position on Israel's actions and aggression against Palestinian territories.

He said Mohamad would deliver the National Statement, reaffirming the country's unwavering support for the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent and sovereign state based on the pre-1967 borders. The minister is also expected to meet his counterparts from several countries to discuss efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including exploring new opportunities in business, trade, and investment.
