Former Executive to Face Charges in UiTM Holdings Losses Case

Kuala Lumpur:Klang Valley A former senior executive is set to be charged in court on Thursday in connection with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigation into losses faced by UiTM Holdings Sdn Bhd. The investigation includes allegations of abuse of power related to operational expense payments totaling approximately RM42 million to several companies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the suspect, a man in his 50s, was arrested at his residence in the Klang Valley around 1 pm yesterday. The MACC issued a statement revealing that preliminary investigations suggest the suspect authorized payments in 2017 to companies where he allegedly had interests.

The MACC statement highlighted that the arrest is part of a probe into the financial losses suffered by UiTM Holdings in 2023. MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed the arrest and stated the case is being pursued under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
