Gombak: Police arrested four foreign men and one local woman last Wednesday for suspected involvement in an Immigration stamp forgery syndicate. Gombak District Police Chief ACP Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir stated that the arrests were made at 12:25 pm by a police team from the Commercial Crime Investigation Division of the Gombak District Police Headquarters (IPD).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in the first raid at an apartment in Gombak, Selangor, a 27-year-old foreign man was detained. Following further inspection, police successfully discovered items suspected of being used to forge Immigration stamps. Noor Ariffin mentioned that subsequent to this arrest, his team detained three more foreign men, aged between 39 and 47, along with a 47-year-old local woman around Shah Alam.
He further explained that all suspects have been remanded until Oct 8, and the case is under investigation under Section 420 of the Penal Code (Cheating). Authorities have urged members of the public with information regarding the incident to come forward to assist the investigation.
