Kuching: Malaysians are recognized for their generosity in providing aid to target groups and alleviating their burdens during festive celebrations, stated Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nancy highlighted an increasing number of organizations and individuals reaching out to the ministry and its agencies for guidance on appropriate channels to direct their contributions. She emphasized the proactive nature of Malaysians, who often inquire about ways to help, prompting the ministry to connect them with those in need.
Nancy noted, "Some people ask how they can help, so we provide them with the names of those in need and connect them to the appropriate channels." She acknowledged the willingness of many generous Malaysians to assist, recognizing the various target groups in need across the nation.
Nancy, who also serves as the National Welfare Foundation (YKN) chairman, participated in the Sinar Syawal YKN 2025 program, where she celebrated with 150 children from target groups in the Santubong parliamentary constituency, offering them new Hari Raya clothing.
Additionally, the event's sponsor, Alliance Islamic Bank Berhad, contributed 'duit raya' to the children. Nancy further mentioned that a similar program had been held in Lundu for 50 children, making a total of 200 children from the Kuching area who benefited from these contributions.
