Govt Affirms Unrestricted Investment Policy in Opposition-Ruled States

Kangar: The Unity Government, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has confirmed that it does not impose any restrictions on investors looking to invest in states governed by opposition parties. The Prime Minister's political secretary, Datuk Azman Abidin, emphasized that investment decisions are left entirely to the investors, who have the freedom to choose any state that aligns with their business objectives.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Azman clarified that investors who see potential in states such as Perlis or Kedah are free to proceed with their investments without any federal interference. He highlighted the government's neutral stance, asserting that there are no limitations on investment destinations within the country, including in opposition-led regions.

Azman made these remarks while speaking to the media after representing the Prime Minister at an event where Ihsan MADANI contributions were handed over to the needy in the Kangar parliamentary constituency. The event took place at the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Senior Officers Hall.

Earlier in the day, Azman also distributed aid to residents in the Arau and Padang Besar parliamentary constituencies at separate ceremonies held at the University of Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) Excellence Hall and Dewan Seri Melati, Beseri.

He further noted that the government, through agencies like the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), is committed to facilitating investors wishing to establish operations in any state, ensuring that both opposition and government-ruled areas are equally accessible for investment opportunities.
