Kuala lumpur: All 23 Malaysians who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission will be arriving home tonight at 10 pm, one of the activists, Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Kamaruzaman, confirmed. In a Facebook post, Muhammad Nadir, who is also the CEO of Cinta Gaza Malaysia, announced that all of them would also attend the GSF gathering slated to be held at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, on Wednesday night.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the activists' return comes after they were detained by the Zionist regime's military. Their ship was intercepted in the waters of the R3 Red Zone in the Mediterranean Sea and taken to the port of Ashdod, Israel. They were reportedly released from Israeli custody and departed from Ramon Airport, Israel, before arriving in Istanbul.
The activists, including singer Heliza Helmi and her sister Nur Hazwani Afiqah, were part of a mission aiming to deliver a message about the ongoing situation in Gaza. The flight carrying them is expected to land at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1. The Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) director-general, Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby, has extended an invitation to supporters and media to welcome the activists at the airport.
The GSF mission involved multiple vessels with activists on board, including Hio, Grande Blu, Huga, Alma, Sirius, Inana, Mikeno, Estrella, Fair Lady, and Free Willy. The participants expressed their intent to stand in solidarity at the upcoming gathering, emphasizing their mission to carry the spirit and voice of those affected in Gaza.
