Sri aman: Twenty areas nationwide recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 9 am today, with Sri Aman in Sarawak recording the highest reading.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, data on the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal indicated that Sri Aman recorded an API reading of 195, nearing the very unhealthy level. This was followed by the Serian district police headquarters (IPD) with a reading of 173, Sarikei at 153, Miri at 120, and Kuching at 114.

In Selangor, three locations also reported readings above 100. Johan Setia recorded an API of 154, Shah Alam was at 152, and Petaling Jaya at 130. In Kuala Lumpur, Cheras registered a reading of 159, while Batu Muda recorded 152.

The northern part of the country showed a similar pattern, with three areas in Penang reaching unhealthy levels. Seberang Perai led with an API of 157, followed closely by Minden at 156 and Seberang Jaya at 152. In Kedah, Sungai Petani had a reading of 152, while Alor Setar was at 103.

In Perak, Taiping recorded an API of 155, Tasek Ipoh 137, and Seri Manjung 113. Additionally, Seremban in Negeri Sembilan registered a reading of 108.

Meanwhile, 46 areas nationwide reported moderate API readings, and one area recorded a good reading. As of this morning, no areas were detected to have reached the very unhealthy or hazardous levels.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and readings above 300 hazardous.
