Los angeles: Xsolla, a global leader in video game commerce, has announced the appointment of Hidetaka Kokubu as Head of Japan, effective September 8. This strategic move aims to enhance support for Japanese game companies aiming for global expansion. The announcement comes as Xsolla continues to solidify its presence and influence in the global gaming market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kokubu brings a wealth of experience in both domestic and international business development. His career includes notable roles in global media and entertainment giants such as Amazon and Disney. Kokubu's international experience was bolstered by his tenure in Hong Kong with a Japanese company, where he gained valuable overseas business insights. His leadership roles have spanned various aspects of business development, financial planning, and analysis.
Before joining Xsolla, Kokubu was Vice President and General Manager at a Sony Pictures-owned pay TV channel, where he managed the entire business operations. He also contributed significantly to DAZN, leading live sports streaming operations and spearheading B2B new business sales as a senior executive. Most recently, he served as an Executive Officer at Tsuburaya Productions, where he was instrumental in driving high-level strategic projects.
