Home Ministry Gathers Information on Alleged South Korean Cult Activity

Kuala lumpur: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced that the ministry is actively gathering information on the alleged presence of a South Korean cult operating within the country. The minister addressed the issue in response to inquiries about whether any information had been received from Perlis Mufti Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin (Dr MAZA). Saifuddin stated that he could not provide further details as the investigation is ongoing.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the minister made these remarks during the presentation of Back-to-School Assistance and Donations organized by the Home Ministry's Puspanita branch. The event, which marked the inaugural Back-to-School programme for the year, saw participation from over 300 recipients, including children of ministry staff and other associated agencies. Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah and Datin Seri Norhayati Musa, the patron of the ministry's Puspanita, were also present.

Saifuddin highlighted that the programme aims to alleviate financial burdens on parents by assisting with school supplies ahead of the new school session. The initiative, supported by various private companies, began at the ministry level and aims to expand through additional programmes in the future.

Furthermore, Saifuddin acknowledged the government's significant role in educational assistance, referencing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's announcement of an RM800 million allocation for Early Schooling Aid (BAP). This initiative provides RM150 to each student from Year One to Form Six, distributed through their schools.

He emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among government bodies, organizations like Puspanita, and private companies to ensure sustained support for educational initiatives. Saifuddin expressed gratitude for the ability to implement such programmes in a politically stable and economically prosperous environment, benefiting the nation's citizens.
